Viola Ratcliff

Viola Marie Ratcliff, 92, of Webster City, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. Visitation will be at Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 10:00 – 10:45 AM followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.

Viola was born on January 19, 1933, in Woolstock, Iowa to William and Evelyn (Pease) Fischer. After graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1951, she went on to attend College in Minneapolis for one year. On August 20, 1955, she was united in marriage to Vernon Ratcliff, in Clarion, Iowa. Viola worked as a bookkeeper and was also a devoted homemaker.

A longtime member of the Church of Christ in Webster City and the Hamilton County Historical Society, Viola had a deep appreciation for her community and its history. She especially enjoyed attending tractor and antique shows with Vern, exploring flea markets, and participating in Doodle Bug events.

Viola’s family includes her husband, Vern; sons: Roger (Amy) Ratcliff, and Randy (Beth) Ratcliff; grandchildren: Brandon (Jessi) Ratcliff, Brad (Sarah) Ratcliff, Brett (Bethanie) Ratcliff, Nicholas (Megan) Ratcliff, Jason Ratcliff, and Amanda (Calvin) Brown; great-grandchildren: Mercedes, Lexy, Berkley, Riggs, Kenedy, Royce, Trace, Ivy, Adler, and Milo; great-great-grandchild Jasper. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister Edith Fischer.
