Thomas Edwin Vanatter

Thomas Vanatter, 79, of Webster City, died on Sunday, September 22, 2024. A Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) in Webster City. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 1st, at 11:00 a.m., at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Van Meter IA.

Tom was born on May 28, 1945, in Ashland, Kentucky to Thomas Edgar, and Marguarete (Clark) Vanatter. After graduating from Lincoln High School in Webster City with the “Class of 1963”, Tom served in the Army from 1965 – 1967 with service in Vietnam.

He then worked as a Mechanic. Tom married Janet Simpson on September 8th, 1967; the couple divorced in 1993. Tom later married Linette Oberhelman on September 10, 1994.

His family includes his Children: Jeff (Theresa) Vanatter, Tony (Mindy) Vanatter, Tina Anderson, Carrie (Kent) Tilley of Stratford, Rose (Darren) Plain, of Webster City, and James (Jackie) Peterson, of Webster City; grandchildren: Tommy, Lane, Mckaylee, Hannah, Samantha, Morgan, Colin, Nolan, Bentley, Charli, Zoe, Chaz, Taylor and Kylie; sister Judy Malaise; He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linette in January of 2024, and sisters: Diane Mazza and Katie Claude.
