Sue Ellen Rainey, 65, of Webster City, died on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames, Iowa, due to complications of her Leukemia. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, January 18, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) in Webster City.
Sue was born on June 9, 1954, to Roger and Donna Mae (Owens) Dietz in Waterloo, Iowa. She married Michael Rainey in 1974, the couple later divorced.
Sue lived in Cedar Falls, Iowa for many years and in 1986 she moved to Prairie du Chien, WI where she worked at 3M in Prairie du Chien she lived on the river and enjoyed boating and fishing. She was also involved in women’s bowling league and pool league for many years.
She moved to Webster City Iowa in 2003 and worked at Electrolux and Van Diest Supply Company. She loved playing the Powerball with her friends at work and was an avid player of scratch-off and won big a few times. Sue took pride in her plants and baking. She loved spending time with her grandkids.
Sue’s family includes her two children: Danielle (David) Stubberud and Donald Rainey; grandchildren: Riley (Kelsie) Rainey of Rochester, MN, Skylar Rainey of Cedar Falls, IA, Maison Vasquez (Khaitrina Phompong), of Ames, IA, Palyn Stubberud of Webster City, IA, Jade Rainey of Racine, WI and Faith Jordie of Prairie du Chien, WI; her sisters: Rhonda Lewis of Mason City, IA and Joannie (Randy) Wolfe of Waterloo, IA;several nephews; and her dog baby Sophie Mae. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Doreen Dietz and brother Kenneth Dietz.
