Sandra Kay Van Hauen, 85, of Webster City, Iowa died on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at the Paula Baber Hospice Home, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa. Visitation will be held at Asbury United Methodist Church, in Webster City, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 8:45 – 9:45 AM, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 AM. The family has entrusted Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.
Sandra was born on April 4, 1939, in Iowa Falls, Iowa to Raymond and Margaret Weber. After graduating high school, she married Lawrence Van Hauen, at the Methodist Church in Grundy Center, Iowa, on May 1, 1960. The couple began their life together in Iowa Falls before settling in Webster City in 1969. Sandra had a successful career as a realtor for forty plus years in Webster City, working with Gold Key Realty, Jim Fortune Realty and most recently Neighborhood Realty.
Sandra was a member of the Women’s Club, Garden Club, where she served as Treasurer, additionally, she contributed to Mis-We MLS in Ft Dodge, Paragon 5 MLS, Navica, and the Webster City Chamber of Commerce, serving as president two terms. A long-time member of the Asbury Methodist Church she cherished her faith and fellowship. In her free time, Sandra found joy in quilting, gardening, music, and spending time outdoors. Her creative spirit and love of nature enriched her life and the lives of those around her. Sandra’s greatest Joy in life was her family.
Sandra’s family includes: two sons: Troy (Michelle) Van Hauen of Mt. Juliet, TN and Brenton (Kristin) Van Hauen of Bondurant, IA Iowa; five grandchildren: Alex, Ana, Chris (Samantha), Leo and Vada; great grandchild: Freya; sisters Pat Frerichs and Elaine Doty; three nephews: Kyle, Shawn, and Christopher; and three nieces: Jennifer Amity and Tricia. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Nephews: Dennis Frerichs, Lonnie Frerichs and Zachary Frerichs.
