Robert George Farley, 88, of Webster City, died on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at the Paula Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Services will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City, from 9:45 – 10:45 a.m., followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.
Bob was born to Russell and Lola (Netland) Farley, on December 10, 1935, on the family farm north of Blairsburg, Iowa. He was a graduate of Blairsburg High School.
Bob was united in marriage to Joyce Callies in 1961, they had two children Kim and Kreg. Bob and Joyce later divorced. In 1981, Bob married Cindy King, where he became step-father to Chad, Holly, and Melissa.
Bob started contributing to the workforce with his brother Roger at Hahne Printing for several years. He then went on to be a deputy for the Hamilton County Sheriff Office; he retired after 22 years of service. Following retirement, he worked part-time for Webster City Auto.
Bob was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where he was often seen helping, or taste testing, in the kitchen. He enjoyed traveling and spending time with family; taking trips to Alaska, Branson, and many other destinations.
Bob’s family includes his wife Cindy of 42 years; children: Kim Kuhlers (Steve Briola), Kreg (Toni) Farley, Chad (Krystel) Carter, Holly (Ted) Larson, and Melissa (JJ) Mathis; grandchildren: Paige (Evan) Weinschenk, Kenady Highland (Jacob Zanders), Connor Larson, Jayden Mathis (Mateo Balderas), Trey Mathis, Olivia (Keanan) Shannon, Colton (Halie) Kuhlers, Courtney Carter, Zane (Abbey) Carter, Dominique Zimmer, Collen Zimmer, Ryder Reese, and Jake Farley; one great-grandchild Finleigh Shannon; siblings: Rodney (Janice) Farley, Judy (Jim) Bergkamp, and Ron Farley; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Richard and Roger.
