Richard Irelan

Richard Irelan, 96, of Webster City, died at his home on Monday, January 20, 2025. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, from 9:30 – 10:15 AM followed by funeral service at 10:30 AM. The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.

Richard was born on April 16, 1928, to Charles and Grace (Trask) Irelan. After graduating from high school, he attended Phoenix College in Phoenix, Arizona. On April 26, 1952, he married Patricia Faiver in Chicago, Illinois. The couple relocated from Chicago to Phoenix, Arizona, in 1956. While there they enjoyed square dancing. In 2001 they moved to Webster City, Iowa. 

Richard worked at Motorola, where he contributed to the production of electronic components, some of which were used in moon missions. In his free time, he enjoyed crafting jewelry from rocks he collected. Richard was a member of the American Legion in Webster City.

 Richard’s family includes his daughter Pam Irelan of Webster City, IA; Seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2008; daughter Patricia Brown; and nine siblings.
