Kenneth Strunk

Kenneth “Ken” Strunk, 63, of Webster City, Iowa, died on Monday, May 15th, 2023, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Ft Dodge. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) in Webster City. 

 
Ken was born on December 10th, 1959, in Webster City, IA to LeRoy “Sam” and Karen (Elsberry) Strunk. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1978 and pursued his passion for automobiles by attending Auto Body trade school at Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg, Iowa. This paved the way for him to open his own Body Shop in the mid 1980’s in Highview. He also worked for Allied and Nationwide Insurance for over three decades before retiring in 2016.  He was united in marriage to Wendi Boyd on February 7, 1998, in Ft Dodge, Iowa.

Ken was passionate about several interests that he pursued throughout his life. He was an enthusiastic mushroom and Asparagus hunter, enjoyed deer hunting with family members, participated actively in water-skiing and went to the Lake of the Ozarks for fishing every May. Kenneth spent time behind the wheel as an active stock car driver and also participated in Demo Derbies, go-kart races with his sons. Later on, he found joy being the pit crew leader for his boys.

Ken’s family includes: his wife of 25 years; children:  Nate (Nicole) Olmstead of Webster City, Brandon Strunk of Webster City, Adam (Jessica) Strunk of Webster City, and Catie (Jorden) Boyd of Des Moines; nine grandchildren; brother Keith (Misty) Strunk of Sturgis, KY; sister Kim (Dan) Supple of Rodgers, AR; half-sister Heather Truesdale; two nephews; and one niece.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
