Douglas Bergman

Douglas Bergman, 64 of Stratford, Iowa, died on Sunday, July 21, 2024. Visitation will be 9:30 – 10:15 AM on Saturday July 27, 2024, at Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford, followed by a Celebration of Life at 10:30 AM, the family requests casual attire. The family has chosen Boman Funeral Home (bomanfh.com) to care for their needs.

Doug was born on December 23, 1959, to Dennis and Dolores (Osborn) Bergman in Webster City, Iowa. He graduated from Stratford High School in 1978. Doug and Jan Hoshaw became a couple in Jr. high school and spent many years together and welcomed a son Janson in 1998, the couple later divorced. He was baptized in Stratford Lutheran Church. Over the years Doug worked at Westrum Motors, Stratford Co-op, and Swine Graphics

Doug loved raising animals, fishing, feeding birds and squirrels, and in his younger years hunting coon. He also enjoyed going to auctions, gardening, grilling, cooking and spending time with his family and friends. One of his favorite times was cooking Bacon for his special girl Rowynn on Sunday mornings.

Doug’s family includes his son Janson Bergman (Shannon Swon), of Stratford, Iowa; brothers: Tony (Sharon) Bergman of Montezuma, Iowa, and Greg (Rachel) Bergman of Webster City, Iowa. Memorials will be used at the discretion of the family.
