Dawn Heidick, 69, of Webster City, passed away on January 21, 2025, at Trinity Hospital in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dawn was born to Russell and Dolly (Carter) Carpenter, on February 28, 1955, in Fort Dodge. She was a dedicated wife, sister, aunt, and friend who touched the lives of many.
As well as working at Farm Journal for several years, Dawn was a gifted quilter and found joy in stitching together beautiful patterns. She had a passion for gardening and canning. She also enjoyed collecting gems and doing various arts and crafts.
Dawn’s family includes her brothers: Nick (Deborah) Carpenter of Santa Maria, California, and Kim (Charlene) Carpenter of Estill Springs, Tennessee; former sister-in-law Julia Carpenter of Lompoc, California; nieces: Nicole Lokken of Navarre, Florida, Sarah Potterbaum of Lompoc, California, Natalie Coleman of Tucson, Arizona, Roxanne Carpenter of Estill Springs, Tennessee, and Ashley Stahl of Estill Springs, Tennessee; and nephew Garrett Carpenter of Estill Springs, Tennessee.
Dawn was preceded in death by her parents, stepdad Herb Hutton, husband James Heidick Jr., and her long-time companion Dale Hudson.
