Darrel Jondal

Darrel Jondal, 61 of West Bend, Iowa, died on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the Mercy One North Iowa Hospice in Mason City, Iowa.  A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, on Friday February 24, 2023, at  Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) in Webster City.

Darrel was born on December 18, 1961, in Brainerd, Minnesota to Howard and Deloris (Cooley) Jondal.  While he attended the Webster City High School, he worked at B&B repair fixing bicycles.  He then worked as an auto detailer at Clemont Auto of Webster City for about 20 years, and Lambis Auto of Webster City for 10 years, after this he worked on the production line at the Daily Freeman Journal until 2021.

Growing up in the Jondal home he leaned to play Cribbage.  He liked to spend time watching football, cheering for one of the two teams playing, and racing go-carts locally, watching NASCAR racing, and going to the races at the Hamilton County Speedway.  One of his favorite things was simply sitting outside drinking a beer and enjoying the outdoors.  His trips to Minnesota to see family were important to Darrel.

Darrell’s family includes his sisters:  Kim Clabaugh of Ames, IA and Wanda Humlicek of Webster City, Iowa; 11 nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Harold.
