Darrel Jensen, 80, of Webster City, passed away surrounded by family on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at Crestview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Webster City. The family will be having a Memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at New Testament Church of Christ in Webster City, with visitation from 12:30-2:00 p.m.
Darrel was born on March 21, 1937, to Howard and Thelma (Snell) Jensen in Badger, Iowa. He attended Webster City Coal Country School. He married Shirley (Riley) Jensen on November 3, 1961. He worked on the farm since his teenage years both at home and for local farmers. He always enjoyed outdoor work and gardening. He also drove truck for Umthuns Trucking, Jewell Mink Plant, and the Coop.
His family includes daughter Julie (Murray) Coleman, of Webster City, Iowa; grandchildren: Whitney (Austin Skoglund), of Dayton, Iowa; and Eric Coleman of Webster City; 3 great grandchildren: Makenzie, Brayden, and Carter, all of Dayton; survived by four siblings: Jerry (Dick) Hayden of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Marlene (Roger) Anderson, of Webster City, Joyce (Lanny) Hill, of Pomeroy, Iowa and Terry (Shirley) of Jewell, Iowa. He was preceded in death by both parents; son Bryan Jensen; five siblings: Duane Jensen, Dorothy (Bill) Becker, Bud Jensen, Marvin (Pearl) Jensen, and Gary (Joan) Jensen and former wife, Shirley Jensen.
