Betty Olmstead, 95, of Webster City, IA, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Van Diest Medical Center. A private family service will be held, with a burial at Graceland Cemetery, in Webster City. Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) is entrusted with the services.
Betty was born on February 11, 1930, in Clarion, Iowa to Perry and Emma (Worrick) Arnold. After High School, she married Roy “Sonny” Olmstead Jr. on September 2, 1950, in Webster City, Iowa. Betty was first and foremost a devoted homemaker, but she also worked as a checker at Fareway for several years.
She was a longtime member of the Webster City Church of Christ. Betty loved reading, especially books by Danielle Steel and Mary Higgins Clark. She enjoyed tending her flower garden, grilling out, and taking trips to Las Vegas with Sonny. Her greatest joy was her family—she cherished times spent with them boating on Okoboji, and holidays surrounded by her loved ones.
Betty’s family includes her daughter Rhonda Olmstead, of Webster City; daughter-in-law Suzanne Olmstead of Iowa Falls; grandchildren: Matthew (Dawn) Olmstead of Eau Claire, WI, Daniel Olmstead of Iowa Falls, and Jennifer (Justin) Koeppe of Norwalk, Iowa; great-grandchildren: Colin, Spencer, Elizabeth and Alex; brother Perry (Becky) Arnold of Webster City; sister Shirley Seagren, of Webster City, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Sonny; son Gary; son-in-law Larry Pingenot; and brother-in-law Charles Seagren.
