Bennett Mechaelsen

Bennett “Ben” Mechaelsen, 65 of Webster City, IA, died on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City, IA.  Boman Funeral Home (www.bomanfh.com) is caring for the family’s needs.

Ben was born on August 23, 1957, in Webster City, Iowa to Lowell and Pat (Nelson) Mechaelsen.  He attended the Webster City Schools, and then worked at Electrolux in Webster City.  He married Wendy Bauer in 1976, and then married Peggy Price in 1988.  Ben spent years being a part of AA, loved hunting, fishing, canoeing, and participated in dragon boat races.

Ben’s family includes:  his mother, Patricia Mechaelsen; four daughters: Jennifer (Mike) Hart of Carroll, IA, and their children MaKayla ( her children Iris and Kryen), Dillon, Michael, and Brayden,  Jamie (Andrew) Johnson of Cedar Falls, IA and their children Senica, and Elliana,  Catherine (Michael) Monachino of Urbandale, IA  and their daughter Cecilia,  and Amy Mechaelsen of Denver, CO; step-daughter Jennifer (Jeff) Brown and their children Cameron and Maddox.  He was preceded in death by his father, Lowell Mechaelsen, brother Brad Mechaelsen and his beloved dog Roxie.
